## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE LISTED AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED TO DEPART RWY 17R FROM TAXIWAY CHARLIE.

DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT CABIN DOOR BECAME UNLATCHED AND OPENED JUST BEFORE ROTATION SPEED;

THE TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED WHILE PASSING TAXIWAY ECHO; ATCT WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO THE EXIT AT THE END OF RUNWAY 17R AND EXIT VIA TAXIWAY LIMA. THE AIRCRAFT, HAVING DIFFERENTIAL STEERING, TURNED TOWARD TAXIWAY LIMA BUT, BECAUSE OF INEFFECTIVE, OVERHEATED BRAKES & HIGH RATE OF SPEED, VEERED TOWARD LIMA AND OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE INFIELD AND BECAME DISABLED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA284](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA284), Jul 14, 2020: Beech 95 55 (N1332Z), Spring, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: Excessive wear of the left brake liners which reduced brake effectiveness resulting in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
