## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE SKYDIVER, UNDER CANOPY, WAS MANEUVERING HIS PARACHUTE WEST OF THE DROP ZONE AT OTAY LAKES ROAD. DURING HIS DESCENT HE STOPPED CONTROLLING HIS CANOPY AND APPEARED TO BE FLYING WEST NORTHWEST. HE LANDED OFF THE FIELD APPROXIMATELY 1/4 OF A MILE FROM THE DROP ZONE. THE SKYDIVER WAS UNRESPONSIVE AT HIS OFF-FIELD LANDING SITE WITH NO PULSE DETECTED. CPR WAS RENDERED BY SKYDIVING COMPANY PERSONNEL AND IT CONTINUED TO BE RENDERED BY THE FIRST RESPONDERS EMT'S. THE SKYDIVER WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
