DURING FINAL APPROACH INTO MONTGOMERY REGIONAL AIRPORT (MGM) THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING AND EXHAUSTING ALL MEANS TO EXTEND THE GEAR, THE PILOT ELECTED TO EXECUTE A LANDING WITH THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR IN THE UP AND LOCKED CONDITION. NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20LA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20LA259), Jul 22, 2020: Beech 400 (N425BJ), Montgomery, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Landing with the left main landing gear retracted due to the failure of the landing gear control unit, which resulted in substantial damage.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
