## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA305](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA305), Jul 25, 2020: Piper PA28 (N716RL), San Antonio, TX, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper decision to take off in an airplane over maximum gross weight and with a tailwind, which prevented the airplane from climbing.

## Other reports on N716RL (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19851130071189I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19851130071189I), Nov 30, 1985: Piper PA28140 (N716RL), Newburyport, MA, Minor damage. Further decrease in power after carburetor heat applied. Turned it off, engine quit. Auto fuel without STC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
