## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF AN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT INVOLVING A CESSNA A188B WITH A REGISTRATION OF N90834. DURING TAKE-OFF ROLL, PILOT DETECTED A LEFT DRIFT AND ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT WITH FULL RUDDER AND RIGHT BRAKE. AT THE POINT HE DECIDED TO ABORT, THE AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY AND BEGAN TO CLIMB. PILOT REALIZED HE WOULD NOT CLEAR CORN AT END OF RUNWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO FLY AROUND IT BUT CAUGHT THE CORN IN THE SPRAY BOOMS OF THE AIRCRAFT. AS THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A SLIGHT PITCH UP, THE AIRCRAFT LOST LIFT AND SETTLED INTO THE RISING TERRAIN. UPON IMPACT, THE AIRCRAFT SLID UP A HILL ON THE NOSE UNTIL STOPPING AND THE AIRCRAFT THEN SETTLED BACK ONTO GROUND SPREADING THE LANDING GEAR. PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOR EXAMINATION. PROPELLER SPINNER CONE AND LOWER ENGINE COWLING SHOWS INDICATIONS OF A NOSE IMPACT. RIGHT WING HAS INDICATIONS OF DAMAGE ON THE LEADING EDGE NEAR THE WING ROOT. THE RIGHT ELEVATOR AND HORIZONTAL STABILIZER HAD DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS A FIBERGLASS RUDDER LOCK INSTALLED ON AIRCRAFT THAT HAD NOT BEEN REMOVED PRIOR TO FLIGHT.
