## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

HUGOTON, KS: N290GJ, AT602, PILOT RETURNED TO LOADING AREA DURING SPRAY

OPERATIONS AND REDUCED POWER WHILE WAITING FOR TWO OTHER AIRCRAFT TO RELOAD.

ONCE POWER WAS REAPPLIED TO RETURN TO LANDING AREA, ENGINE WAS UNRESPONSIVE.

ATTEMPTS TO AVOID POWER LINES AND STRUCTURES IN THE AREA REQUIRED EVASIVE

LANDING MANEUVERS AND AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN A FIELD / DRAINAGE DITCH AFTER

IMPACT. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST UPRIGHT, THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT AT 53%. PILOT PULLED THE POWER LEVER BACK FROM FULL FORWARD AND PUSHED IT FORWARD AGAIN WITH NO CHANGE IN ENGINE RPM. PILOT SHUT DOWN AND DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
