## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED AT PRIVATE AIRSTRIP SHE WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH. UPON LANDING THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT IN TIME AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED INTO A FENCE AT THE END OF THE GRASS RUNWAY, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. PILOT STATED THAT SHE HAD ARRIVED A LITTLE FASTER THAN NORMAL. UPON LANDING SHE FELT POOR BRAKING ACTION ON THE GRASS BUT DETERMINED BY THAT POINT IT WAS SAFER TO STAY ON THE GROUND AND RUN OFF THE END VERSUS TRY A RISKIER ABORTED LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA250](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA250), Aug 3, 2020: Cessna A185 (N185GK), Kalispell, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive speed while landing on a wet grass runway, which resulted in a runway excursion and impact with a fence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
