## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE WAS ON APPROACH TO HIS GRASS STRIP RUNWAY WHEN HE FELT THE AIRCRAFT "SINK", HE ENTERED A FIELD OF SOYBEANS AND FLIPPED OVER APPROXIMATELY 75 YARDS FROM THE RUNWAY. HE DID NOT INDICATE HE HAD ANY MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE AIRCRAFT AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO THE WIND.DISCUSSION WITH PILOT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE EVENT FOUND HE FELT THAT A GUST OF WIND HAD CONTRIBUTED TO HIS FAILURE TO REACH THE RUNWAY. OHIO TROOPER STATEMENT INDICATED HE HAD NO INJURIES AND PICTURES INDICATED MINIMAL DAMAGE, ONLY THE ENGINE COWLING WAS BENT UP, WINGS AND TAIL WERE INTACT DUE TO THE SLOW SPEED AS THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO THE SOY BEAN FIELD. INSPECTION BY AN IA MECHANIC FOUND NO DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL, THIS EVENT CLASSIFIED AS AN INCIDENT BY NTSB ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
