## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 4, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 1815 LOCAL TIME, N697SC, A CZECH SPORT SPORTCRUISER, EXPERIENCED A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE WHICH LED TO A PARTIAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE ENGINE ROUGHNESS AND PARTIAL POWER LOSS OCCURRED SIMULTANEOUSLY AT APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET ABOVE GROUND DURING CLIMB OUT FROM A TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 36 AT CENTRALIA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT IN CENTRALIA, ILLINOIS. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO LEVEL HIS ALTITUDE BUT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN ALTITUDE DUE TO THE PARTIAL LOSS OF POWER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT HIGH ENOUGH TO ATTEMPT A RETURN TO THE AIRPORT SO HE DECIDED TO LAND IN A SOYBEAN FIELD OFF OF THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 36. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE SOYBEAN FIELD AND DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY DAMAGE FROM THE LANDING.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
