## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF THE HELICOPTER WAS OPERATING UNDER 14 CFR PART 137 WHILE PERFORMING ARIAL APPLICATION. FLYING OVER A FIELD SEPARATED BY A ROW OF TREES, POWER LINE, THEN ANOTHER ROW OF TREES, THE PILOT STRUCK AND DAMAGED THE POWER LINE BETWEEN ROWS WITH THE AIRCRAFTS RIGHT BOOM. THE PILOT MENTIONED THAT THE BIGGEST CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE INCREASED GLAIR AS RESULT OF THE SETTING SUN. HE ADMITTEDLY EXPLAINED THAT HE COULD ONLY SEE THE TREES AND DID NOT VISUALLY ACQUIRE SIGHT OF THE POWER LINE UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. AFTER CONTACTING THE POWER LINE THE PILOT TOOK EVASIVE ACTION AND SET THE AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND FOR FURTHER INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
