## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 12, 2020, THE WINDS WERE CALM WITH VFR CONDITIONS. THE PILOT MADE A THREE (3) POINT LANDING IN THE CONVENTIONAL GEAR AIRCRAFT. ON ROLLOUT AT ABOUT 20 KNOTS, THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY VEERED RIGHT. THE PILOT TRIED TO CORRECT. THE AIRCRAFT MOMENTARILY STARTED TO TURN LEFT, THEN BACK TO THE RIGHT. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING AND ENGINE/PROPELLER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA345](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA345), Aug 12, 2020: Stinson 108 (N9726K), Glenwood Springs, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control upon landing due to a sheared tailwheel locking pin.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
