## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT MISJUDGED APPROACH TO ID74. AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH AND FAST AND DID NOT TOUCH DOWN UNTIL PAST THE HALF WAY POINT OF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT BOUNCED HARD AT LEAST TWICE AND PILOT APPLIED POWER TO ATTEMPT A GO AROUND. EVIDENCE WOULD SUGGEST THAT PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF POWER THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A PARKED AIRCRAFT'S PROPELLER, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO GO OUT OF CONTROL AND VEER LEFT INTO THE TREES. THE LEFT WING WAS SHEERED OFF IN THE TREES AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON FIRE AND WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA269](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA269), Aug 13, 2020: Cessna 182 (N92403), Cascade, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to continue the unstable approach which resulted in an inadequate flare, bounced landing and collision with trees following a delayed go around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
