## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 18, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT DEPARTING THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE LANDING TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL, BUT THEN A GUST OF WIND CHANGED THE ALIGNMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RUNWAY WHICH SURPRISED THE PILOT CAUSING HIM TO PUT THE INCORRECT INPUT INTO THE RIGHT AILERON WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE APPLIED LEFT AILERON. THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED TO THE LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA356), Aug 19, 2020: Maule M5 (N386X), Olathe, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during landing.

## Other reports on N386X (2)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
