## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 22, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 1435, AN AT 802A, SERIAL NUMBER 802A-0759, N759FA CRASHED IN A BEAN FIELD WHILE ENGAGING IN CFR 137 AGRICULTURAL SPRAYING OPERATIONS. THE SOLE OCCUPANT (PILOT) WAS FATALLY INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED. AN EYEWITNESS (JUVENILE) TO THE ACCIDENT DESCRIBED THE AIRCRAFT ?FLYING INTO THE GROUND?. THE CRASH SCENE WAS RELATIVELY COMPACT WITH SUBSTANTIAL DEBRIS FORWARD OF THE AIRCRAFT AND LITTLE BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT. VEGETATION BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNAFFECTED. THE AREA SUGGESTS THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH THE GROUND AT A VERY STEEP ANGLE. AIRCRAFT IMPACT SIGNATURES AND FINAL RESTING POSITION SUGGEST AN ACCELERATED STALL AND LOSS OF LIFT WHICH RESULTED IN THE CRASH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA357](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA357), Aug 21, 2020: Air Tractor AT802 (N759FA), Dell, AR, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed while maneuvering at low altitude, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
