## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SOLO STUDENT PILOT DEPARTED BURKE LAKEFRONT (KBKL) TO LOST NATION (KLNN) TO MEET A DESIGNATED PILOT EXAMINER FOR HIS PRIVATE PILOT CHECKRIDE. WEATHER WAS VFR, VISIBILITY WAS UNLIMITED, WINDS WERE CALM. UPON TOUCHDOWN, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO FLOAT. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CORRECT, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO PORPOISE AND THE STUDENT PUSHED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT FORWARD COLLAPSING THE NOSEWHEEL LANDING GEAR AND STRIKING THE PROPELLER UPON THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE ELT WAS ACTIVATED IN THE ACCIDENT.

THE STUDENT PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS LATER REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY AND PLACED ON THE RAMP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA371](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA371), Aug 24, 2020: Cessna 152 (N94589), Willoughby, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s improper landing flare that resulted in a porpoise and collapsed nose landing gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
