## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER MAIN GEAR TOUCHDOWN, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FAILED CAUSING THE LEFT WING TO DROP TO THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT ENGINE CONTACTED RUNWAY AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE LEFT ENGINE FIRE INDICATION/WARNING ACTIVATED. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED ON THE RUNWAY, AND CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE WITH NO FIRE. THE EVACUATION OF THE AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED OUT THE RIGHT SIDE AND THERE WERE NO REPORTED PASSENGER INJURIES AND ONLY ONE MINOR FA INJURY REPORTED TO BE SMALL FRICTION BURN ON THE HAND FROM GOING DOWN SLIDE. AIRPORT EMERGENCY PERSONNEL RESPONDED.

PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS REVEAL AN AREA OF CORROSION ON THE MAIN LANDING GEAR CYLINDER OUTER HOUSING THAT MAY HAVE FORMED DURING THE LAST OVERHAUL RE-CHROMING PROCESS. METALLURGICAL ANALYSIS REMAINS ONGOING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA20WA140](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA20WA140), Aug 28, 2020: Boeing 767 (N423AX), Bucure?ti, Romania, substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
