As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 9/7/2020 AT ABOUT 1249 AZ TIME, N186GC WENT OFF THE RUNWAY AT GRAND CANYON BAR TEN AIRPORT IN WHITMORE, AZ.

PIC DUTY ON AT 0520 THAT AM AND IT WAS HIS 4TH FLIGHT OF THE DAY. PIC HAD 8.77 HOUR DUTY DAY ON 9/6 WITH FLIGHT HOURS OF 2.73. PILOT WAS OFF 2 DAYS BEFORE THAT.

WEATHER REPORTED BY PILOT: CLEAR SKIES AND CALM WINDS

UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT

PIC STATED: "I APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER BUT THE AIRCRAFT KEPT DRIFTING LEFT. WHEN RELEASED RUDDER PRESSURE TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY MID FIELD AND IMPACTED SOME ROCKS"

"THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSY. WAS DISASSEMBLED ON A TABLE WITH TWO WHEEL HALVES, SPACER, BRAKE DRUM, ATTACHED NUTS & BOLTS AND CONTAINED A RUBBER INNER TUBE.

UPON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE, THE AMOUNT OF TREAD WAS STILL WAS SERVICEABLE AS THE TIRE HAD BEEN CHANGED ON 9/4/2020. THERE WERE A FEW CUTS IN THE TREAD BUT THESE CUTS HAD NOT PENETRATED INTO THE INNER TUBE. FAA FORM 8130-3 (AIRWORTHINESS APPROVAL TAG) SHOWS THIS S/N (82802455) AS A NEW PART THAT CAME FROM GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO.

UPON INSPECTION OF THE INNER TUBE, THE VALVE STEM WAS COMPLETELY SHEARED OFF AND FOUND LYING INSIDE OF THE TIRE. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE INNER TUBE WAS NOTED."

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR20CA298](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR20CA298), Sep 7, 2020: Cessna 208 (N186GC), Whitmore, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of directional control during landing due to a flat main landing gear tire, which resulted in a lateral runway excursion and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
