## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE IN A CLIMB TO 1000 FT., TOWING A BANNER, THE AIRCRAFT'S ENGINE QUIT. THE PILOT MANAGED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT IN THE GULF OF MEXICO JUST OFF OF THE BEACH IN DESTIN, FL. THE PILOT MANAGES TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY PICKED UP BY PASSING BOATERS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA20CA317](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA20CA317), Sep 10, 2020: Piper PA25 (N7366Z), Destin, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to manage the available fuel supply which resulted in fuel starvation and a total loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
