## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N7562F TRAINING FLIGHT WITH 02 PILOTS (01 INSTRUCTOR, 01 STUDENT PILOT) ONBOARD ORIGINATED FROM PEARLAND REGIONAL AIRPORT (LVJ), PEARLAND, TX, WITH A DESTINATION OF PEARLAND REGIONAL AIRPORT. UPON TOUCHDOWN RUNWAY 14 LVJ AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN CROSSED A GRASSY AREA, CROSSED THE TAXIWAY, TRAVELLED THROUGH ANOTHER GRASSY AREA TO THE RIGHT OF THE TAXIWAY, AND ENTERED A DITCH AT WHICH TIME THE NOSE WHEEL BROKE OFF CAUSING THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO IMPACT THE GROUND. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPING AND COMING TO REST UPSIDE DOWN. BOTH PILOTS SUCCESSFULLY EGRESSED THE AIRCRAFT. VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INCLUDES: NOSE LANDING GEAR WHEEL ASSEMBLY SHEARED FROM THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STRUT, PROPELLER BLADES DAMAGED/BENT, VERTICAL STABILIZER DAMAGE, DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGS WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO LEFT WING, FAIRING/SKIN DAMAGE TO BOTTOM SECTION OF NOSE OF AIRCRAFT AND BROKEN WINDSCREEN. INJURIES INCLUDE: STUDENT PILOT RECEIVED SLIGHT LACERATION TO HAND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20CA393](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20CA393), Sep 13, 2020: Cessna 172 (N7562F), Houston, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain directional control upon landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
