## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS COMING IN FOR A LANDING AT RDU AIRPORT, RUNWAY 5L. DURING ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT TRIED BUT COULD NOT CORRECT THE PULL AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED INTO THE GRASS OFF THE RUNWAY.

INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT ON LANDING ROLL OUT THE AIRCRAFT TIRE LOST AIR PRESSURE FORCING THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT TRIED BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT FOR THE PULL AND THE AIRCRAFT ENDED UP IN THE GRASS JUST OFF THE RUNWAY. MAINTENANCE REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT TIRE HAD SOME DAMAGE TO THE SIDEWALL AND THE INNER TUBE HAD A LEAK. THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY WAS CHANGED. THE CAUSE OF THE TIRE DAMAGE IS NOT EVIDENT. THE PILOT DIDN'T REPORT HITTING ANYTHING ON LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
