THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED HORSESHOE BAY, TX (DZB) ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN TO NATCHITOCHES, LA. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO HEAD TOWARDS WACO, TX BUT WAS INFORMED THAT HILLTOP LAKES AIRPORT WAS 4 MILES AWAY. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TOWARDS HILLTOP LAKES AIRPORT. WITNESSES STATED THE AIRCRAFT OVERSHOT THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO STEER RIGHT BUT THEN TURNED LEFT APPEARING TO ATTEMPT TO AVOID LIGHT POLES AND PEOPLE ON THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED IN THAT PROFILE UNTIL IT STRUCK THE GROUND.
