## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT, THE PILOT PERCEIVED AN INTERMITTENT CHANGE IN ENGINE SOUND AND PERFORMANCE AND THE POTENTIAL FOR ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO FUEL DEPLETION. HE CHOSE TO LAND ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY RATHER THAN CONTINUE TO THE NEAREST AIRPORT. ENGINE POWER WAS NOT LOST. AFTER LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT WAS REFUELED, A GROUND RUN WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FROM THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND CONTINUED TO ITS ORIGINAL DESTINATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
