## Narrative

PILOT WAS ENROUTE FROM TOUSSAINT AIR PARK, OH. TO KMPG (MARSHALL CO.) WV APPROXIMATELY 12 MILES PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT KMPG THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PILOT STATED THAT WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED SHE COULDN'T MAKE IT TO KMPG SHE INITIATED A 180 TURN TO A CLOSER AIRPORT IT BECAME APPARENT SHE COULDN'T MAKE IT. SHE THEN CHOSE AN OPEN PASTURE FIELD AND LANDED IN THE PASTURE. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

THE GENERAL AVIATION ACCIDENT/INCIDENT (8020-9) FORM INDICATED ONE INJURY, YET UPON INTERVIEWING THE PILOT SHE STATED, "I WAS NOT INJURED".

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN20LA422](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN20LA422), Sep 23, 2020: Aeronca 7AC (N81624), St. Clairsville, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilots improper fuel planning that resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

## Other reports on N81624 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19821209069459I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19821209069459I), Dec 9, 1982: Bbavia 7AC (N81624), Ellisjay, GA, Minor damage. On rollout student pilot veered left then ground looped. Will receive additional dual instructions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
