## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT DURING STRAIGHT AND LEVEL FLIGHT, AT 1700 FT MSL, THE AIRCRAFT BEGIN TO EXPERIENCE A SEVERE VIBRATION WITH A REDUCTION IN POWER OF APPROXIMATELY 600 RPM. MANIPULATION OF THE THROTTLE DID NOT PRODUCE ANY NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN ENGINE POWER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE THEN PREPARED THE AIRCRAFT FOR AN EMERGENCY LANDING, AT WHICH TIME THE ENGINE FULLY SEIZED. HE ALSO ATTEMPTED AN IN AIR RESTART WHICH WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, AS THE ENGINE WOULD NOT CRANK. THE PILOTED ATTEMPTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A SOY BEAN FIELD, BUT TOWARDS THE END OF THE ROLLOUT THE NOSE GEAR DUG IN TO THE GROUND AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
