## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT TOOK OFF FROM HOME FIELD AROUND 1900 LOCAL TIME AND FLEW SOUTH FOR 10 MINUTES. MADE NORMAL APPROACH FROM THE SOUTH. AS PILOT WAS APPROACHING GROUND THE LEFT WING DIPPED. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT WITH FULL THROTTLE BUT AIRCRAFT DIDN'T RESPOND AND AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON LEFT GEAR. THE LEFT GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING THE LEFT WING TIP TO HIT THE GROUND, CAUSING A SPIN. DAMAGE TO THE LEFT AILERON MADE THIS AN ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA006](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA006), Oct 4, 2020: Capella XLS (N7143A), Firth, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during the landing flare which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and collision with the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
