## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 10/2020 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^WAS ENGAGED IN TAXI PRACTICE AT FRENCH VALLEY CA AIRPORT ONLY PERSON ONBOARD IN AIRCRAFT N1279Z AN EXPERIMENTAL PIETENPOL TAIL DRAGGER. ON THE THIRD HIGH SPEED TAXI THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT GOING INTO A GROUND LOOP OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 18 CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, NO DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND NO INJURIES. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD 10 HOURS OF DUEL IN THE AIRCRAFT AND THAT DURING THE TAXI DOWN THE RUNWAY THE TAILWHEEL SWUNG LEFT AND HE FAILED TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE HAD GONE FLAT, POSSIBLY DUE TO THE GROUND LOOP AND THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND TAILWHEEL. THE AIRPORT WAS NOT BUSY ON THAT DAY AND WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR.

AIRCRAFT OWNER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ALSO CONTACTED TO REVIEW DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
