## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FINAL APPROACH TO KSUS AIRCRAFT N295PJ WAS CLEARED TO LAND APPROXIMATELY 7 NM OUT FROM THE AIRPORT. AFTER COMPLETING THE BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST, PILOT AND PASSENGER BOTH NOTICED A LARGE BIRD OFF THE RIGHT OF THE NOSE AT A SLIGHTLY HIGHER ALTITUDE. LESS THAN A SECOND LATER PIC AND PASSENGER HEARD AND FELT A THUMP ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT AT 4 NM OUT AT 2000 FT MSL. UPON LANDING AND INSPECTION BY THE PIC, IT WAS NOTED THE RIGHT ENGINE SUSTAINED A BIRD STRIKE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
