## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 17, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 PM, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS PREPARING TO DEPART JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT (SNA), IN CIRRUS SR-22, N48RC. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ON ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RAMP WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND HAD JUST CONTACTED SNA CLEARANCE DELIVERY TO GET A CLEARANCE. CLEARANCE TOLD ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TO STANDBY. WHILE WAITING FOR CLEARANCE, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, DECIDED TO ADJUST HER SEAT. WHEN SHE UNLOCKED THE SEAT, THE SEAT SLID TO THE FAR AFT POSITION AND SHE COULD NO LONGER REACH THE BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO MOVE AND SHE STRUGGLED TO GET HER LEFT FOOT ON THE RUDDER PEDAL. THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH TO STOP THE AIRPLANE. THE AIRPLANE TURNED IN THE DIRECTION OF A DUMPSTER AND HIT THE DUMPSTER HEAD ON.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
