## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 27, 2020, AT 1310 LOCAL TIME, A VANS R7 AIRCRAFT (N372KA) REGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY AN ATP RATED PILOT, MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT LAKEVIEW ? GRIFFITH FIELD (13C). THE LANDING WAS SUCCESSFUL WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURY TO THE PILOT, WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT. THE FLIGHT HAD ORIGINATED FROM FOND DU LAC COUNTY (FLD) AT APPROXIMATELY 1110 LOCAL TIME AND THE INTENDED DESTINATION WAS TO BE POUGHKEEPSIE (POU).

APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES INTO FLIGHT DURING A CLIMB THROUGH 095 THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SPUTTER, LOSE POWER, AND THEN WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE ON THE PANEL. THE PILOT THEN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, BEGAN A DESCENT TOWARDS THE NEAREST AIRFIELD (13C) AND BEGAN TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES BUT THE ENGINE NEVER REGAINED POWER.

AFTER A SAFE LANDING THE PILOT, WHO IS ALSO A CERTIFICATED REPAIRMAN FOR THE HOMEBUILT/EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT, INSPECTED THE ENGINE AND SYSTEMS AND HAS TROUBLESHOT THE ISSUE TO THE FAILURE OF ONE OF THE POWER SWITCHES AND BOTH ECUS OF THE FADEC IGNITION SYSTEM. THE PILOT/OWNER HAS PLANNED TO TRAILER THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO HIS HOME STATE OF NEW YORK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
