## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 30, 2020, PILOT LEFT KPWA ENROUTE TO KHSD. DURING THE DESCENT AT ABOUT 2300 FT MSL AND ABOUT 2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF KHSD, PILOT NOTICED A QUICK FLASH OF A BIRD JUST OUTSIDE THE WINDSCREEN ON THE RIGHT. ABOUT THE SAME TIME WAS A LOUD THUD FROM THE BIRD HITTING THE WING. PILOT VISUALLY CHECKED THE WING AND SAW WHAT LOOKED TO BE A DENT. HE THEN CALLED ON THE CTAF FREQUENCY INFORMING ANY TRAFFIC NEARBY THAT HE HAD JUST HAD A BIRD STRIKE AND WOULD BE COMING IN FOR A LANDING. DURING THE APPROACH TO LAND, THE PLANES FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS WERE ALL NORMAL. THE LANDING WENT SMOOTHLY AND ONCE TAXIED BACK TO THE HANGAR, PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND INSPECTED THE DAMAGE. DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED ON THE RIGHT WING LEADING EDGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
