## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PRIVATE PILOT AND CFI WERE PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO TRAINING IN N72PE, CE-172R, AT CVO, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LOST ENGINE POWER. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO PUT THE AIR PLANE DOWN IN AN OPEN FIELD A QUARTER MILE NORTH OF THE AIRPORT. NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE OCCURRED. A TURBO AIR INTAKE HOSE WAS FOUND COLLAPSED WHICH STARVED THE TURBO CHARGER OF AIR WHEN THE ENGINE WAS THROTTLED UP. THE HOSE WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRPLANE FLOWN BACK TO HOME BASE WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
