## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 15, 2020, AT APPROXIMATELY 1438 PDT, THE LAS VEGAS FLIGHT STANDARDS DISTRICT OFFICE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A PART 91 CRASH, INVOLVING A 2005 AIR CREATION TANARG ULTRALIGHT SPORT AIRPLANE, REGISTRATION NUMBER N912SU, SERIAL NUMBER T05051. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED FOR UNKNOWN REASONS IN RUGGED MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN, APPROXIMATELY FIVE MILES EAST OF THE CALVADA MEADOWS AIRPORT IN PAHRUMP, NEVADA.

THE PILOT HAD A SPORT PILOT CERTIFICATE AND DID NOT HOLD AN FAA MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. HE HELD AN AIRPLANE SINGLE ENGINE LAND, WEIGHT-SHIFT-CONTROL LAND, SPORT ENDORSEMENTS.

THERE WERE NO REPORTED PASSENGERS ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT.

INITIAL INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN TRAVELING IN A NORTHEAST DIRECTION WHEN IT MADE LIGHT GROUND CONTACT IN AN AREA OF DESERT TERRAIN, WHICH UP SLOPES TO THE EAST. IT APPEARED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING LOW AND CLIPPED CACTUS AND JOSHUA TREES BEFORE IMPACTING STEEP TERRAIN OF A DRY WASH THAT WAS JUST TO THE NORTH OF WHERE THE AIRCRAFT MADE INITIAL GROUND CONTACT. THE PILOT WALKED APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES FROM THE CRASH SITE BEFORE BEING LOCATED AND TRANSPORTED TO A LAS VEGAS HOSPITAL.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
