## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A TRAINING FLIGHT WITH 2 STUDENTS AND ONE INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD, THE STUDENT WAS SETTING UP FOR RWY 32 RNAV APPROACH AT LAKE HAVASU CITY (HII). THE STUDENT WHO WAS THE FLYING PILOT, CALLED FOR FLAPS. SHORTLY AFTER THE FLAPS WERE EXTENDED, A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND AIRCRAFT WANTED TO BANK RIGHT. THE NON FLYING STUDENT LOOKED OUT THE RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW AND SAW THAT THE RIGHT OUTBOARD FLAP WAS BROKEN AND HAD RAISED ABOVE THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE WING SLIGHTLY. THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK CONTROL AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY AT HII.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
