## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/28/2020 AIRCRAFT N209P A BEECHCRAFT BE58 DEPARTED PERRY- HOUSTON COUNTY AIRPORT (KPXE), PERRY GA. BOUND FOR BLUE GRASS AIRPORT (KLEX) LEXINGTON KY. ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN. AFTER DEPARTING KPXE, THE PILOT INITIATED A CLIMB TO 7000 FEET AND TURNED NORTH EAST TO MCN VOR. JUST BEFORE ENTERING INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (IMC) AT 6000 FEET HIS ELECTRONIC FLIGHT DISPLAY (EFD) INDICATED A FAILURE OF THE ATTITUDE AND HEADING SYSTEM (AHRS). THE PILOT TURNED 180 DEGREES TO REMAIN BETWEEN LAYERS AND IN VISUAL FLIGHT RULES (VFR) CONDITIONS, CONTACTED APPROACH CONTROL AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCE. HE ASSESSED THE SITUATION AND DETERMINED THAT HE COULD USE HIS WET COMPASS AND BACKUP G5 ATTITUDE INDICATOR TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT THEN ADVISED APPROACH THAT HE WANTED TO LAND AT MIDDLE GEORGIA REGIONAL AIRPORT (KMCN) AND WAS VECTORED TO A TEN MILE FINAL FOR AN ILS APPROACH ON RUNWAY 05 AT KMCN. THE AIRCRAFT TRANSITIONED THROUGH THE CLOUDS AND LANDED SAFELY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
