## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FROM FAA FORM 8020-9 DATED 12/03/2020. N36NG (PC12) DEPARTED RY 34 AT SLE AT 1504Z TO OLM. NO REPORTED BIRD STRIKE ON DEPARTURE. AIRPORT MANAGEMENT CONDUCTED A RUNWAY INSPECTION AT 1600Z AND DISCOVERED A BIRD CARCASS ON RY 34 AT TAXIWAY N. N36NG PILOT PHONE FROM OLM AND REPORTED DAMAGE TO A DEICING BOOT ON ONE OF THE WINGS OF THE AIRCRAFT. BIRD ADVISORIES WERE ON THE CURRENT ATIS.

UPON DISCOVERY OF THE DAMAGE TO THE DEICING BOOT THE PILOT ARRANGED FOR A QUALIFIED MECHANIC TO CONDUCT REPAIRS TO THE DE-ICE BOOT. THE PILOT ALSO REQUESTED AND RECEIVED A SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT TO MOVE THE AIRCRAFT TO A LOCATION WHERE REPAIRS COULD BE MADE IF NECESSARY. THE SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT WAS NOT REQUIRED DUE TO REPAIRS AND RETURN TO SERVICE CONDUCTED AT THE KOLM AIRPORT.

PHOTOS OF DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING DEICE BOOT INDICATES NO STRUCTURAL DEFORMITY TO THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WING. THE DEICING BOOT HAD A SMALL PUNCTURE FROM THE IMPACT WITH THE BIRD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
