## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO CIRRUS RAW DEVICE MAPPING (RDM) DATA, THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED RUNWAY 17 AND TRAVELED 245 FEET WHEN 50 PERCENT POWER WAS APPLIED. AT 550 FEET, FULL POWER WAS APPLIED AND AT 970 FEET A CAS WARNING MESSAGE ?MAN PRESS? ILLUMINATED ALONG WITH AN AUDIBLE DOUBLE CHIME THAT REPEATS EVERY 1.5 SECONDS UNTIL ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE PILOT. EIGHT SECONDS LATER ROTATION OCCURRED WITH THE NOSE PITCHING UP FIVE DEGREES AND A REDUCTION OF ENGINE POWER TO 85 PERCENT. THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED INTO A TEARDROP MANEUVER FOR A LANDING ON RUNWAY THREE, WHICH IS 8,107 FEET IN LENGTH. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS LINED UP WITH RUNWAY THREE APPROXIMATELY 50 PERCENT OF THE RUNWAY WAS IN VIEW. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TRAVELING 116 KNOTS AND AN ESTIMATED ALTITUDE OF 84 FEET AGL AT THIS POINT. HEAVY BRAKING WITH SKID MARKS WERE IDENTIFIED JUST OVER THE THRESHOLD LINE FOR RUNWAY 21 AND MEASURED 1045 FEET TO THE END OF PAVEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED DOWN A DIRT BANK, ACROSS AIRPORT ROAD, AND CAME TO REST UP A SLIGHT DIRT BANK 115 FEET FROM THE END OF RUNWAY. THE LAST RDM DATA POINT OFF THE END OF RUNWAY INDICATES THE AIRCRAFT WAS TRAVELING 62 KNOTS JUST PRIOR TO IMPACT. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE, LEFT WING, AND LANDING GEAR. FIRST RESPONDERS CUT OPEN THE FUSELAGE TO EXTRACT THE SERIOUSLY INJURED PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA068](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA068), Dec 10, 2020: Cirrus Design SR22 (N577CP), Ogden, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The partial loss of engine power for reasons that cannot be determined due to lack of available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
