## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

12/28/2020 THE PIC DEPARTED 60R TO THE NORTH AND PERFORMED SEVERAL FLIGHT CONDITIONS CHECKS AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS NEW TO THE PIC. THE PIC ELECTED TO TERMINATE THE LOCAL AREA FLIGHT AND RETURNED TO 60R, PERFORMED A BEFORE LANDING CHECK MENTALLY AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT NOT REALIZING HE HAD NOT EXTENDED THE GEAR. WHEN ASKED IF HE HAD HEARD THE GEAR WARNING HORN HE STATED THERE WAS NO HORN. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE WARNING HORN WAS INOP BECAUSE OF A DAMAGED HORN MODULE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN21LA105](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN21LA105), Dec 28, 2020: Piper PA-30 (N1236), Navasota, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the landing gear before landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
