## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 03, AT 100-200FT ABOVE THE GROUND, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AND THE PILOT RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR TO REDUCE DRAG. THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED MORE LOSS OF POWER AND MANEUVERABILITY, THE PILOT DECIDED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE SAME RUNWAY AHEAD OF HIM. THE PILOT RE-EXTENDED THE LANDING GEAR VERIFYING VISUALLY LEFT SIDE DOWN BEFORE TOUCH DOWN TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT APPLIED BRAKES, THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RUNWAY SPUN AROUND. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR HAD COLLAPSED. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE PROP, RIGHT WING AND LANDING GEAR. THERE WERE FOUR PERSONS ON BOARD WHO EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA078](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA078), Jan 2, 2021: Cessna P210N (N833RT), Moab, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper application of full throttle during takeoff, which resulted in loss of engine power due to an excessive fuel flow and overly rich fuel mixture.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
