## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 02, 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 16:15, N52NL ENTERED INTO A PARTIAL GROUND LOOP DURING LANDING ROLLOUT. THIS CAUSED THE LEFT LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE AND THE LEFT WINGTIP/AILERON CONTACTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE PIC STATED THAT THE LANDING WAS NORMAL AND THAT DURING ROLLOUT, HIS LEFT SHOE KEPT GETTING STUCK AND CAME OFF THE RUDDER PEDAL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR21LA076](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR21LA076), Jan 3, 2021: Extra Flugzeugbau EA 300/L (N52NL), Santa Monica, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a ground-loop.

## Other reports on N52NL (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20151212021359I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20151212021359I), Dec 12, 2015: Extra Flugzeugbau Gmbh EA 300/L (N52NL), Westfield, MA, Minor damage. Pilot closed canopy prior to take off, upon advancing the throttle, the canopy flew open damaging the canopy.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
