## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N737GR WAS TAXIING VIA TAXIWAY "A" FOR RUNWAY 20. THE PLANE MADE SEVERAL LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS WITH NOSE WHEEL STEERING AND BRAKES DURING TAXI. THE STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT, WHILE MANEUVERING IN THE RUNUP AREA, HE EXPERIENCED A RIGHT BRAKE FAILURE. HE PASSED FLIGHT CONTROLS TO CFI. THE CFI STATED HE ALSO HAD RIGHT BRAKE FAILURE. THE PLANE CONTINUED OFF THE TAXIWAY. THE CFI PULLED MIXTURE TO IDLE-CUTOFF AND STOPPED THE ENGINE. THE PLANE ROLLED INTO THE GRASS AREA WHILE STRIKING A TAXIWAY LIGHT WITH LEFT MAIN TIRE. PLANE WAS TOWED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
