## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIR TRACTOR N523BB DEPARTED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 LOCAL TO PERFORM AN AERIAL APPLICATION ON A FIELD LOCATED NEAR HIGHWAY 888, NEWELLTON, LA. THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT. WHILE PERFORMING THE AERIAL APPLICATION, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE TOP SECTION OF A 45? WOODEN POWER-LINE POLE THAT RUNS PARALLEL TO HIGHWAY 888. THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY LOST CONTROL OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS AND CRASHED IN A WOODED AREA ACROSS THE STREET FROM HIGHWAY 888. THERE WAS NO POST CRASH FIRE. THE IMPACT OF THE WOODEN POLE AND CRASH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BREAK APART IN SEVERAL PIECES TO THE POINT OF BEING CLASSIFIED AS DESTROYED. AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH, THE PILOT RECEIVED FATAL INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
