## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DESCENT THROUGH FL 120 ENROUTE TO KODIAK AIRPORT AK, THE FLIGHT CREW STATED THEY FELT A SLIGHT VIBRATION THAT FELT LIKE A PROPELLER, THEN WHAT APPEARED TO BE A COMPRESSOR STALL. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN NORMALLY FOR APPROX. 30 SECONDS, THEN THERE WAS A BANG AND FLAMES WERE OBSERVED AROUND THE NO. 2 ENGINE COWLINGS. AT THIS POINT THE FLIGHT CREW ACCOMPLISHED ALL MEMORY ITEMS, QRH, AND FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED. THE FLIGHT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH CENTER AND REQUESTED FIRE TRUCKS AFTER LANDING IN KODIAK. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AND WAS MET BY THE KODIAK FIRE DEPARTMENT. NO EVIDENCE OF FIRE OBSERVED AFTER LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
