## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING AS A PART 91 AND BEING USED AS A MULTI-ENGINE TRAINER. THE PILOT RECEIVING INSTRUCTION WAS AT THE CONTROLS. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 34L AT VAN NUYS (VNY). WEATHER WAS VFR, WINDS 330 DEGREES @ 09 KTS, GUSTING TO 15KTS. UPON LANDING ROLL-OUT, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI) TOOK OVER THE CONTROLS INITIALLY BELIEVING THERE WAS A FLAT TIRE. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS, THE LEFT WING STARTED LOWERING TO THE GROUND. THIS WAS DESCRIBED BY THE CFI AS A ?GRADUAL COLLAPSE?. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP WITH THE LEFT WING RESTING ON THE GROUND. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CFI INDICATED THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF AN ABNORMAL SITUATION; THE LANDING WAS SMOOTH AND TRACKING STRAIGHT DOWN THE RUNWAY. UPON INSPECTION, THE LEFT-HAND MAIN LANDING GEAR HAD PARTIALLY COLLAPSED INWARD. THE OVER-CENTER MECHANISM WAS IN PLACE AND THE HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR FULLY EXTENDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
