## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 2/24/21 AT ABOUT 0946 LOCAL TIME AIRCRAFT N642LT LANDED ON RUNWAY 20 AT HAMPTON AIRFIELD (7B3) AND DURING LANDING ROLLOUT, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY INTO THE SNOWBANK AND CAME TO REST INVERTED. CLOSEST REPORTED WEATHER AT PORTSMOUTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KPSM) INDICATED VMC, NO PRECIPITATION, AND WINDS 270 AT 8 KNOTS. RUNWAY 20 IS PAVED AND WAS DRY AND CLEAR OF ALL ICE AND SNOW. THE PIC REPORTED TWO SUDDEN WIND GUSTS FROM THE WEST DURING LANDING ROLLOUT WHICH CAUSED HIM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE DESPITE FULL APPLICATION OF LEFT RUDDER. THE PIC STATED THAT NO MALFUNCTIONS OR MECHANICAL DEFICIENCIES PRECLUDED THE ACCIDENT, NOR WERE ANY NOTED IN POST-ACCIDENT DISASSEMBLY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA136), Feb 24, 2021: Turcotte JR Robert L RV6 (N642LT), North Hampton, NH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing in a crosswind condition, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
