## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS GIVING A NEW STUDENT AN INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT (DISCOVERY FLIGHT). WHEN HE CAME IN FOR A LANDING, HE LANDED AROUND THE 1000-FOOT MARKERS AT KCRQ. HE WAS DEMONSTRATING A SOFT FIELD LANDING, NOSE WHEEL STILL IN THE AIR, WHEN ATC ASKED HIM TO EXIT AT TAXIWAY A4. HE KICKED LEFT RUDDER AND BEGAN EXITING THE RUNWAY AT A4. HE HAD TOO MUCH SPEED AND DID NOT WANT THE AIRCRAFT TO SETTLE ON THE NOSE WHEEL WITH LEFT RUDDER IN SO HE STRAIGHTENED OUT THE RUDDER AND BROUGHT THE AIRCRAFT NOSE DOWN. AT THIS POINT, HE WAS NOT PROPERLY ALIGNED WITH THE TAXIWAYS CENTERLINE, BRIEFLY EXITED THE TAXIWAY AND STRUCK THE TAXIWAY LIGHT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
