## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 03/03/21, PIC OF N2374J WAS LANDING AT KRVN AIRPORT. ON SHORT FINAL AROUND 50 FT OFF THE GROUND THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED SUDDENLY DUE TO GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS AND WIND SHEAR. THIS CAUSED A HARD LANDING WHICH BROKE THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. THE PIC EXECUTED A GO-AROUND. ON THE GO-AROUND, THE LEFT MAIN GEAR DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. ON THE SECOND LANDING THE PIC STEERED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE LEFT OFF THE RUNWAY INTO A SMALL DITCH WHICH COLLAPSED THE NOSEGEAR. BECUASE THE NOSE GEAR IS CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE MOUNT, IT ALSO BROKE THE MOTOR MOUNT, MAKING THIS AN ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA21LA149](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA21LA149), Mar 3, 2021: Beech 23 (N2374J), Rogersville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in an initial hard landing, separation of the left main landing gear, and a runway excursion during a subsequent landing attempt.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
