## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

APPROXIMATELY 25 MINUTES INTO A PLEASURE FLIGHT NEAR DEVIL'S LAKE STATE PARK IN SAUK COUNTY,WISCONSIN. THE AIRCRAFT LOST POWER. THE ENGINE STOPPED IN FLIGHT AND AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS EXECUTED.

THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. HIGHWAY 136 WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT DUE TO BRIDGE REPAIRS. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK TREE BRANCHES ON DESCENT, RESULTING IN MINOR LEFT WING LEADING EDGE DAMAGE AND A BROKEN LANDING LIGHT LENS. THE LANDING WAS OTHERWISE UNEVENTFUL.

THE PILOT AND RESPONDING SHERIFF DEPUTY BOTH REPORTED THE PRESENCE OF FUEL ON THE GROUND, AT THE AIRCRAFT RESTING PLACE AND ALONG THE FLIGHT GLIDE PATH, APPROXIMATELY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE LEAKING FUEL WAS OBSERVED TO BE COMING FROM THE AFT LOWER END OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED AND CLEANED UP THE FUEL DEBRIS.

THE PILOT OBSERVED BOTH WING FUEL GAUGES TO BE EMPTY AFTER LANDING. HE SUBSEQUENTLY SHOOK BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT WINGS WHILE LISTENING FOR A FUEL SLOSHING NOISE, BUT NO DISCERNABLE NOISE WAS NOTED.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELOCATED TO A BUSINESS PPROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE LANDING SPOT, WITH THE PROPERTY OWNER'S PERMISSION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
