## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 27, 2021 THE PILOT TOOK OFF FROM OGDEN, UTAH AIRPORT (KOGD) ON A PERSONAL SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT. AT APPROXIMATELY 1745 THAT DAY, HE RETURNED TO THE SAME AIRPORT FOR LANDING. DURING LANDING ROLLOUT AND WITH LESS THAN A 10 MPH CROSSWIND, THE AIRCRAFT MADE A VIOLENT LEFT TURN AS THE TAILWHEEL CAME AROUND. THE PILOT THEN INCREASED POWER AND ADDED RIGHT RUDDER IN AN ATTEMPT TO ELEVATE THE TAIL IN ORDER TO REGAIN RUDDER AUTHORITY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED OFF OF RUNWAY 35 AND GROUND-LOOPED, RESULTING IN THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR BREAKING AND FOLDING UNDER ITSELF, RIGHT WING DAMAGE, RIGHT FLAP DAMAGE, AND A PROP STRIKE.

Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll with a light crosswind, which resulted in a runway excursion and collision with terrain.
