## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT'S STATEMENT:

"I WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 5R. THE WIND WAS REPORTED AS CALM ALTHOUGH I FELT I HAD A SLIGHT TAIL WIND WHILE LANDING. TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL, HOWEVER APPROXIMATELY DURING THE LAST PORTION OF THE ROLLOUT, THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A SEVERE SHIMMY. I WAS ABLE TO EASILY TAXI OFF THE RUNWAY. WHEN I ARRIVED AT PARKING, I GOT OUT AND CHECKED THE NOSE GEAR AND FOUND THAT THE SHIMMY DAMPER HAD DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED GROUND CONTROL AND TOLD THEM THAT THERE MAY BE DEBRIS ON THE RUNWAY AND THEY SENT A TRUCK OUT TO SEARCH FOR IT. THE TRUCK DRIVER BROUGHT THE DEBRIS (SHIMMY DAMPER AND PARTS) BACK TO ME".

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
