## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED UPON LANDING ON RUNWAY 28 AT BEAVER COUNTY AIRPORT (BVI). UPON INSPECTION, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DRAG LINK PIVOT BOLT WAS FOUND SHEARED AND THE HEAD OF THE BOLT WAS MISSING. THE BOLT HAD BACKED OUT OF THE PIVOT POINT (CONNECTION OF THE UPPER DRAG LINK TO THE LOWER DRAG LINK) ALLOWING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE.

PIPER SERVICE BULLETIN 1156 REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF THE BOLT THAT SHEARED EACH 500 HOURS. THIS BOLT HAD ACCUMULATED LESS THAN 490 HOURS TIME IN SERVICE. A SAFETY RECOMMENDATION WILL BE SUBMITTED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
